OTTAWA TFCSOCCER CLUB
The U7-U8 Pre-Academy is the first step towards our nationally acclaimed academy programs. This program prepares players with extra training sessions for the Ottawa TFC Academy and Competitive programs that begin at the U9 age category.
Eligibility: boys & girls born 2017-2018
Commitment: 2 sessions/week
Season dates: Nov. 26 - Mar. 5 (12 weeks)
Location: Orleans Dome
Registration fee: $315
INTEREST FORM
Space is limited!
Players are selected by our coaching staff via their participation in other Grassroots programs. This is the only way to enter the program – in other words, it is not open for registration to all interested players.
Pre-Academy players must therefore register for and attend the Skills Centre program in addition to their weekly Pre-Academy session and any friendlies or festivals that are organized during the winter season. The Fall Mini Program and Fall Mini 4v4 (via the Open league) are also great ways to be identified by our staff ahead of the winter season.
Those who are interested in the Pre-Academy should fill out the Pre-Academy Interest Form. Note that this is not a registration form, but rather an expression of interest. Players who accept an invitation to the program will be notified by email and see the registration fee added to their account.
Players will work with some our club's most qualified coaches, running through small sided games, technical exercises (ball mastery), physical literacy (strength, speed, coordination, balance, general athleticism), and 1v1 exercises.
Girls selected to the Pre-Academy will be integrated into the U9-U10 Girls Academy program training sessions, (still training alongside fellow Pre-Academy girls). Boys will have standalone Pre-Academy sessions with our U9-U12 Boys Academy staff.
Boys Staff Coach: Logan Richardson
Logan has grown up at Ottawa TFC and has been coaching in our Grassroots, Competitive and Academy programs for many years. His leadership qualities are apparent and he sets by example as a player and as a coach. He is continuing his coaching journey throughout university and is taking on more and more responsibilities at the club.
Girls Staff Coach: Jordan Lundin
While she is perhaps best known for her charisma and energy, Jordan first made her name as one of the top female players produced in Ottawa. Her talents not only allowed her to represent Eastern Ontario at the provincial level, but to be included in the Big South's all-decade team for her NCAA D1 career at Radford University. Since returning from the US, she has developed into an important asset at the club across the Girls Academy programs; she now head coaches our Senior Girls OPDL team and leads our U8-U10 Girls programs.

The registration fee includes an Ottawa TFC training shirt. These will be handed out during the first month of sessions - more details to be shared when confirmed.
Players are required to wear the training shirt given by the club, along with protective shin guards and shoes (which can be bought at any sports store) at all sessions. Soccer cleats are allowed and recommended for all age groups, but not officially necessary. Black shorts and socks will be handed out as part of the Grassroots Skills Centre program, and should be worn at all Pre-Academy sessions as well.
Ottawa TFC programs will be taking a holiday break during which programs will not run, unless otherwise stated. This season's break will take place between Wednesday, December 18, 2024 and Sunday, January 5, 2025. Activities will be resuming as scheduled on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Camps are sometimes offered during club breaks for players who wish to get some extra training or simply can't stay away from the pitch – visit our Camps page to see this year's offering.
