In this program, Ottawa TFC goalkeepers work on a weekly basis with our staff to develop and refine the skills needed for this unique position. Training focuses on technical development of each keeper, with emphasis placed on owning your area, proper diving techniques, 1v1 situations, reaction saves, effective distribution, as well as keeper-specific agility and fitness.
The program welcomes players of all abilities (who will be grouped by skill level within the sessions), and is heavily encouraged for all goalkeepers in Ottawa TFC Open, Competitive or Academy programs.
The exact schedule is still to be determined for the outdoor pre-season (Oct.-Nov.) and will be communicated as soon as possible by our staff coaches.
The anticipated training day once we move indoors will be Fridays (starting in mid-November). Training times will be communicated by our staff – the group will be divided by level across two separate indoor hours (5-6 PM or 6-7 PM) following the pre-season.
