The U9-U12 Academy programs lead to our highly acclaimed Elite Academy which competes in the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL).  The Academy program is the exclusive Eastern Ontario affiliate of Toronto FC of the MLS.  The Academy program is one of the most respected development programs in the province.  

U9-U12 Program Details

Season Length:

Late March to September

Weekly Commitment:

U9-U10: 3 times weekly training plus weekly game. 1-2 festivals (half-day events) will also be entered. 

U11-U12: 3-4 times weekly training plus weekly game. 2-3 festivals will be entered over the course of the season. 

U13-U17: see Year Round Elite Academy 

Game Format:

U9-U10 - Players play 7 aside (7v7)

U11-U12 - Players play 9 aside (9v9)

U13-U17 - Players play 11 aside (11v11)

Player Assessments:

Players wishing to join the Academy or Competitive Programs must be evaluated  before the season starts. Begin by registering the player for the "2019 Base Registration" and "2019 Competitive Tryout".

Note: Sample sizes are available to try on at our Clubhouse. 


2019 Tryout/Evaluation Fee: $50 (non-refundable)

Base Player Registration Fee: $225 (before March 31st)

Non-Volunteer Fee: $50 per family (mandatory refundable fee for volunteering)

Once accepted to an Academy program, an additional Academy registration fee will apply. See Registration Site for the cost of this fee.

This fee covers: 

  • Training fees
  • Additional field costs
  • Competitive league costs
  • Referee fees
  • Affiliation fees (Ontario Soccer, EODSA, etc).
  • Training shirts
  • Equipment costs
  • Administrative and insurance costs

Pre-Season Fee:  $70 which covers:

  • Pre-season artificial turf and/or gym training costs.

Team fees: 

  • Team fees are extra and are determined by each team. Team fees typically cover expenses such as tournament/festivals costs, team building, incidental team by team costs, etc. Players will pay this to their Coach or Manager.


Player Requirements: 
  • Players are required to wear protective shin guards and shoes at all games and practices.  Soccer cleats are allowed and recommended at all age groups.
  • Ontario Soccer (OS) Policy states that all jewellry including, but not limited to earrings and watches must be removed.  Taping earrings is also not allowed.  Jewelry poses an unnecessary risk to all players. 
  • Casts - hard casts are not permitted.
